Window on wild flowers - TunisiaI decided to convert this photograph from colour to black and white in order to strip the image down to basics and force it to stand alone on the merits of form and composition. I think the added element of colour draws the eye and emphasizes the beauty of structure, texture and pattern and, hopefully, persuades the viewer to linger and study the image for the smallest detail.
This one is absolutely delightful!
ReplyDeleteGreat in black and white.
Very nice shadow, is that a window?
ReplyDeleteI love the lace pattern the shadow casts on the wall. Black and white looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, the yellow in the flowers does make you want to linger just a little longer, it makes the shot a little more organic and B&W suits it beautifully.

Stunning! The shot contains so many shadows, all vastly different, and perfect in b&w. I also love the sweet yellow flowers. They add a special magic to the image. Lovely! Thanks so much for joining in SSS :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead!
Oh I meant to also say that I love the name of your blog :)
ReplyDeleteLovely SS, love the ornate screen and and your coloured flowers..very effective! :D

It's a good photograph. The little yellow flowers add a nice touch. Romantic.
ReplyDeleteBlack and white? Oh but dear Tessa, you added a hint of yellow to the flowers and green to the foliage! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteAnd with the stucco strokes, the window shutters behind that wrought iron...It all looks so inviting!
(do you know who lives beyond that beauty??)
