IF - Sugary

mmmmmmmmm.......pears for a Cucu treat!
(Cucu - Grandmother in Swahili)

Cucu's Pears

3 pears
1 pineapple
honey
sugar
butter
1 orange, squeezed
1 lemon, squeezed
4 skewers

Peel the pears, cut them into sixes and drizzle them with lemon juice so that they don't go brown.

Peel and chop the pineapple into quarters and remove the centre. Cut each quarter lengthways into 5 pieces.

Melt some butter in a pan and brown the fruit a little, sprinkling regularly with sugar.

Pour the orange juice over the fruit and stir gently.

Add a good dollop of honey and mix as it melts.

Once cool, skewer the fruit, alternating the pear and pineapple.

Drizzle the honey and orange mixture from the pan over the skewers and serve.

We armadillos better stick together! :-)

I love your work - so vibrant! Which media do you use? I just read the bio on your website and it makes me feel like I haven't really lived! You've really immersed yourself in all the texture and energy of the world - lucky you can express it in your paintings. Witch doctors, hippo babies... I'm jealous. No wonder you're homesick.

I agree - the patterns are very pleasing and add movement and rhythm. Also the silhouette-like portrait of the child is wonderful in its simplicity and earthiness.
