‘Daydreaming’
"Sit in reverie and watch the changing colour of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind."
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow ~
“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.”
So far, through the sale of the Armadillo Limited Edition Prints, we have raised $5,326.92 for the Gogos, the orphans and Possible Dreams International - Dr. Maithri's Swaziland Project. Thank you, thank you from the very heart of me. To every single one of you who have reached out with such caring generosity from all over the globe to help build that bridge, I say ngiyabonga. You are all, every one of you, wonderful beyond words. Seriously. xxxx Tessa
Marguerite K, you are truly an earth angel. Time and again you have reached out and touched the hearts of the people of this little nation. Bless you. September 2010: Yet again this amazing lady has helped our Gogos and much of the accolade must to go to her for the fact that we have now reached the $5,000 mark...and still growing! Special grateful hugs to you Marguerite - thank you for your gentle grace.
Many thanks, too, to Caroline (Caroline's Studio) for her contribution to PDI. Dr. M and the Gogos join me in saying a very sincere siyabonga.
'Sit down and be quiet. You are drunk, and this is the edge of the roof.' - Rumi
'Laughter is a melody, a concert from the heart, a tickling by angels, creative living art. Laughter heals and comforts, sometimes gentle sometimes bold. Laughter is a freeing dance, performed within the soul'. -Serene West

Wonderful - I love the way you capture that essence of "laidback"! xx
Thanks. I've been being a bit harsh with myself this morning as I don't seem to have a thought worth keeping.
You just made it all right that I have those sorts of spells.
Hugs to you for a grand week.
I feel just like that fellow on the beach, except that I lie on the sofa and I'm not quite that colorful.
Now I feel it's okay to do that and ponder about the world around me.
Ah, to lie beside the sea
You have captures this delight perfectly.

I love this piece Tessa!
That' s my idea of spending an idle day out! Way to go here!
this is fabadabadoo xxxx
Great quote, great image. I have had days like that, many days like that.
Tessa, this is a beautiful representation of idleness....
and the quote is ideally chosen
That's the type of day I feel like after a rather grim day at work. Holiday next week, but as I'm going to Iceland, I suspect that lying on a beach may be a problem.
i love this :)
Daydreaming with water in the background is a heavenly state. You captured it beautifully with this painting.
*sigh* Beautiful.
My dear friend,
The power in your work never fails to touch me...
Its not just a matter of brushstrokes and colours...
Its a feeling, an experience,
You emote so beautifully with your paintbrush...
Much love to you,
M
PS this guy reminds me a little of me lately ;) - before and after work its where you'll find me!
Three strokes of the brush, and you capture the mood to perfection.
I love this fellow, he looks so relaxed. I'm in a similar position right now, staring up at the ceiling fan and dreaming of tall trees.
Tuscany awaits in its freshness and cicada song. We escape to idle once more...
I seem to have misplaced your mailing address, can you email it to me? :)
Ciao darling friend,
Lola xx
There`s a Walt Whitman poem where he describes the wonders of the beach and it ends ..."Walking with naked feet along the edge of the water... what greater miracles are there?" Always makes me sigh!Last night husband and I took a swim in the Baltic Sea and then lay back like this. Heaven! Your art is so beautiful, Tessa! You have such an insight.
Greetings!
Are you on facebook?

I really don't know what idle means or how to do it. Hahah!
Suddenly, i am blown by ALL the pictures here. then i realized thats because they are bigger. What a difference a BIG PICTURE makes to a middle aged woman's eyesight i tell ya!
i had totally forgotten about IF these days simply because i have been idle. thanks for the reminder through this post.
now let me scroll through these fabulous BIG PICTURES. i have a lot of catching up to do...;-)
Tessa can you imagine 1530 dollars for the gogos.
CLAP CLAP CLAP.
Love Renee xoxoxo
Oh Tessa, this is one of my very favorites. Truly it's fabulous.
Have you read about how studies have shown it's important to daydream?
In August I'm going to spend a long weekend at Lake Tahoe, doing exactly what this dude is up to in your painting. Beautiful!
tessa, where is my comment this time? too funny: i write to you and a paragraph flys out of sight, a comment gets gobbled up. it must be an energy force, and i'm quite willing to assume it's a good one (mysterious, yes, but good) :)
idle. i agree with holly. your paintings carry me to a time and place where i relax my muscles and linger.
congrats on the $$$ tessa. i'm glad to be part of it, and what a reward i get for so little. i can't wait...
love love!

This made me say "ahhhh". So relaxing!
This is beautiful Tessa. So simple (not the painting, the message) and lovely, i'm going to try to appreciate my idleness and remember this poem by Longfellow. While keeping your painting in mind as well. ♥
I'm going to do that...soon.
The long reverie alongside the long shore.
Thank you all very much for such kind comments about my daydreamer! I'm thrilled to bits and pieces that you like him....and I wish you all many happy hours of reverie too.
xxxooo
I'm in a mood for a bit of idle these days, all I want is to stretch on a beach... it's the summer lazyness that has hit me. Lovely picture.
wish I were laying by his side, relaxing and listening to the waves - instead of the dang leaf blower next door!!
