Do you ever feel, in the midst of all the partying and festivity, like sneaking off and having a little time to yourself just to think….and to dream?
The flame trees are in flower now,
And the evening pink flamingo settle
On lapping shores of crimson lake.
The room is soft with dusky light
And silken carpets from Istanbul.
There are table top acacia trees below
In the valley and mellow misty swaths
Of smoke from lamp lit huts which
Recede to firefly flickering glimmer
As the sun sinks and calls in the night.

Beautiful painting and words, thank you for sharing these. I love the soft, loving and thoughtful expression of the woman (your daughter) and her red dress is such a great contrast to the white and dark surfaces surrounding her!
You have a beautiful daughter and what a talent she has...just like her mother!
Wow!!!!!
You have a wonderful way of expression and what a beautiful gift to receive from your daughter. She is a wonderful subject and did a super job of rendering herself for you.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Tessa: You have a neat artistic talent.

Beautiful -- I see the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Painting is gorgeous, pensive, - exactly what I do at parties- until the party follows me into the pool, we all get naked , someone chokes, the fire dept is called in...Love the poem! the two together are very nearly overwhelming- gifted lot, you two.
