She felt positively exhausted after all that arduous social climbing.

“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.”
So far, through the sale of the Armadillo Limited Edition Prints, we have raised $5,326.92 for the Gogos, the orphans and Possible Dreams International - Dr. Maithri's Swaziland Project. Thank you, thank you from the very heart of me. To every single one of you who have reached out with such caring generosity from all over the globe to help build that bridge, I say ngiyabonga. You are all, every one of you, wonderful beyond words. Seriously. xxxx Tessa
Marguerite K, you are truly an earth angel. Time and again you have reached out and touched the hearts of the people of this little nation. Bless you. September 2010: Yet again this amazing lady has helped our Gogos and much of the accolade must to go to her for the fact that we have now reached the $5,000 mark...and still growing! Special grateful hugs to you Marguerite - thank you for your gentle grace.
Many thanks, too, to Caroline (Caroline's Studio) for her contribution to PDI. Dr. M and the Gogos join me in saying a very sincere siyabonga.

What a pretty painting and perfect commentary.
haha! that's lovely! it is gorgeous and a bit of a change from your Africa paintings.and yes! i think that is one type of climbing that would exhaust me too(if i knew how!) I hope you had a wonderful friday Tessa!
xx lori :)
Gorgeous : I'd love to have that on my wall!
Social climbing is a bitch goddess ... Modigliani starved to death before he had to worry about that.
I bet she has her feet soaking in a basin too!
(That is a ladder that has no rungs in my world.)
I love the painting Tessa, with Marie wearing such a tired face yet still with grace.
Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm.
Barb
OH MY! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! xxx
wonderful take on climbing!
I like your style, wonderful painting.
Oh she SO has her feet in a basin of warm water and while exhausted, she still daydreams of grand plans....
Wonderful painting and so expressive.
This we like very much!
striking!!
Modigliani would be proud Tessa!
As she soaks her feet in the hot water basin, she is thinking of the next rungs she'll have to climb to dizzying heights and she has fear of heights, the poor woman. She is gathering her courage and hoping to do it blindfolded.
You are absolutely fabulous. What you do with words and pictures is really breathtaking. I loved this!
That is just totally stunning, Tessa, I LOVE this picture!
I love it too. It feels like the cover of a book I want to write (but haven't yet).
Great homage piece, wonderfully done - love the long, sensuous lines of his works
She's beautiful! I LOVE IT! And soooooooooo big!
Beautiful!!! This is a stunning tribute to Modigliani! What a great interpretation as well.

Really enjoyed the images in your previous post, too.
And yes, I'm fascinated by the fact that your Papa and my father could possibly have met!!
hhahaa oh ya social climbing is serious work! lovely colours!
This is one of those artists who went off my radar. I was (still am) too focused on both impressionism and surrealism. I loved your painting. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
