It all rather depends on who is looking, don't you think?
As the marvellously eccentric writer and critic Marguerite Young said, "All creatures are flawed, but out of the flaw may come the universe."
“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.”
So far, through the sale of the Armadillo Limited Edition Prints, we have raised $5,326.92 for the Gogos, the orphans and Possible Dreams International - Dr. Maithri's Swaziland Project. Thank you, thank you from the very heart of me. To every single one of you who have reached out with such caring generosity from all over the globe to help build that bridge, I say ngiyabonga. You are all, every one of you, wonderful beyond words. Seriously. xxxx Tessa
Marguerite K, you are truly an earth angel. Time and again you have reached out and touched the hearts of the people of this little nation. Bless you. September 2010: Yet again this amazing lady has helped our Gogos and much of the accolade must to go to her for the fact that we have now reached the $5,000 mark...and still growing! Special grateful hugs to you Marguerite - thank you for your gentle grace.
Many thanks, too, to Caroline (Caroline's Studio) for her contribution to PDI. Dr. M and the Gogos join me in saying a very sincere siyabonga.

'Laughter is a melody, a concert from the heart, a tickling by angels, creative living art. Laughter heals and comforts, sometimes gentle sometimes bold. Laughter is a freeing dance, performed within the soul'. -Serene West

Beautiful, flawless painting, Tessa! Not to get all philosophical, but I rather prefer to think that all creatures are perfect. What we perceive as flaws are really perfections.
This is beautiful! Love all the colors.
she is absolutley perfect. hugs from me.
Bold and beautiful - but I wish I could stop looking at the goofy mutt in the foreground. Have I got my eyes in back to front today, perhaps?
This is stunning, love what you've written too.
I think it's beautiful.
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love it.
Ain't that the truth!!!! This is certainly a flawless beauty indeed! Tess your eye for color is just... just... FLAWLESS!!! yes I said it he he he! it is. I just love your work. Amazing, strong and beautiful, just like you!
Beautiful painting--and I really like that quote.
Another beautiful painting by you. You are truly blessed by talent. I am envious, even though that's probably a sin.
This picture is, indeed, flawless!
such poise and balance
such a delight for the eyes
Beautiful painting! I must say, I agree that humanity is flawed--and from that truth is born beauty. Because beauty is born in a perfect Savior and Creator...in our flawed existence, His perfection is made so much more beautiful and brilliant. Your painting actually translated into that illustration very well in my eyes. The silhouette of the woman is done in black, creating a stark contrast to the bold and beautiful colors of the foreground.
Thanks for sharing this. It's a very thought provoking subject--I am thoroughly convinced that Jesus Christ is the reason for flawless beauty even among a flawed humanity.
In His arms,
Flawless that is how I think of you. I am sure wild and crazy and amazing and fun and serious and flawlessly perfect.
Your writing is beautiful Tessa, your comment on my blog is like poetry.
This is absolutely breathtaking! Flawless, indeed!
Oh yes! Well said. Aren't imperfections just unique traits, like DNA markers that gave Life so much variety?
oh! one more fabulous painting Tessa! Could this be Zuri's sister??
bold, bodacious, beautiful, boutiful, brilliant!
S T U N N I N G
That is an absolute traffic-stopper
Breathtakingly beautiful my dear friend,
And amen to your reflections on flaws...
Your thoughts made my mind fly to the words of the late John Updike who said:
"The universe is perfectly transparent. We exist as flaws in ancient glass".
To be human is to be Flawed
Much love to you dear friend,
What an absolute beaut!!
Beautiful colors and silhouette
This is one brilliant picture! :-)
Flawless painting. ;)
Congratulations on winning David's Post of the Day award!
Your subject reminds me of a goddess risen from color itself. I am now wanting to read more from Marguerite Young.

Is it myth or don't all persian carpets have a persian flaw - it's what makes them so highly valued.
That's a beautiful picture.
