- Maya Angelou
The elephant symbolizes power, strength, wisdom and longevity. So, with that in mind, I’d like to dedicate my elephant to Renee’s Nathan. Of course he is a man now, but he will always be Renee's boy! Happy Birthday, Nathan!

I just left her a message wishing him a happy birthday. And that picture! It is lovely! It brings back memories of my childhood. There was a Russian (Soviet at the time) cartoon that they used to show on Cuban telly a lot and it was about a boy who falls for an elephant in a nearby Zoo. He wants to take the elephant home but for obvious reasons he cannot. He lives in a flat with his mum and dad. As soon as the harsh Russian winter arrives the zoo administration decide to move the elephant to another place. The child frees the elephant and together they escape the city. It is a beautiful and magical cartoon. Many thanks for such a beautiful image.
Greetings from London.
Ahhh... and before I forget: Maya Angelou, need I say more? No, :-).
Greetings from London.
Just crazy about this painting, Tessa! And, your sweet dedication to Nathan:)
Funny how that is for mothers. I like this. That it never completely goes, the boy from the man.
Well for fuck sake and I am not even kidding. I was completly stunned. You are so crazy magnificent and wonderful and Nathan it going to be so touched.
Tessa you could not have made me happier or more surprised if you tried.
I love it.
You are, where are you I need a giant kiss right now.
And that was done with a stomping of the finger.
You beautiful friend.
I love you.
Oh beautiful Tessa, I am so filled with happiness and wonder and most of all love. You are an angel.
Happy Birthday Dear Nathan and Renee! xoxoxoxo
Love to you all!
Hi Tessa, I am loving your sweet elephant! What a great b-day gift, too :)
You might enjoy my friend Jennifer's "elephant fetish", which she just posted on her blog reminders2bepresent, too!
You're a sweetheart, Tessa, you have all sorts of kindness in your heart and soul. How did you get that way?
That is just such a joyful picture! What a very kind sentiment as well.
That Maya Angelou quote is precious, but the painting is a gem. What a lovely thought, what a deep, touching gift Tessa. Your generosity never ceases to astound me.
PS: no news in the mailbox... :(
aaawww renee must've been so thrilled with this.
i adore the elephant so.
thank you for sharing.
Tessa, I love that painting. I want to ask your permission (I've asked Renee, also) to use your links and picture along with Renee's post about Swaziland. I'd like to include the entire article on my blog. The more people read about this tragedy, hopefully the more help we can get. June
